I was down in the basement recently looking for the cover of an old Beatles album.

It was the one with them wearing blood-splattered butchers' aprons and posing with an assortment of baby doll parts.

I did find some 8-track tapes of Jimi Hendrix, a lava lamp and a shoebox full of loose snapshots.

I brought the shoebox upstairs and started scanning.

A long time ago (and in a galaxy far, far away, it seems), when most bondage magazines were almost entirely black and white, adult book stores sold "Color Photo Sets" as well as magazines. (Videos? Not for another decade, at least.) These were ordinary looking bundles of 3 1/2 by 5 inch snapshots wrapped in plastic so you could only see the one on top. Sometimes that was the only one that was properly focused and well-lit.

  They cost about six to eight dollars, depending on how many were in the set. It averaged about a dollar a picture when magazines that are now $9.00 or $10.00 were only $4.00 to $4.50, and having your own color snapshots developed and printed cost about a quarter each. Naturally, there was no information about the models included.
